Vintage tools - plane T1469

Up for sale is a hard to find antique SPIERS No:5A INFILL MITRE PLANE with a ROSEWOOD infill.

This one is 2 & 3/4” wide x 10 & 1/3” which suggests that this is a special order MITRE PLANE, as standard widths in their catalogue went up to 2 & 1/4”.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use. Some heavy wear to the base & mouth from being used no doubt as chute board plane. The rear infill has heavy chipping to top- weirdly like strike marks. It has a full replacement blade that is a massive 4.7mm thick. Its an impressive plane & one that deserves a loving home & a sensitive restoration.
