Antique hand tools - PREMIUM QUALITY saw S454

Up for sale is a very hard to find Premium Quality WILLIAM MARPLES & Sons of SHEFFIELD 14” Brass Backed TENON SAW.

A 14" / 355mm plate, this saw has been hand sharpened to 5° of rake & is a faster cutting 10PPI rip profile.
An ornate handle with a sand cast medallion & an heavy folded brass back, this is a saw from the "Golden Years" of saw manufacture from the early to mid 20th century l, when their skill was at it's zenith & the materials were high quality & makers took pride in their work & stood by their tools as a quality product, carpenters weren't using hand held circular saws yet, so they needed saws that worked well & held an edge.

This saw is for the woodworker that is happy to work unplugged, you'll know what I mean when you read this, it's like fast food vs slow food, it's getting back to the heart of woodworking & using your hands, not flicking a switch.

It cuts well, please note all sharpened saws are fully guaranteed, if it fails your expectations of a sharp saw, send it back in the condition that I sent it to you for your money back- simple.
Please note any blue colour you can see on the tooth line is engineers set out fluid- our saw Dr (Jim the saw man) uses it to keep track of where he's filed- if you've ever sharpened a saw that will make sense to you.

CONDITION
This saw is in authentic vintage condition, wear & tear consistent with age & use, freshly hand sharpened & set. A previous owners initials branded into the handle & some scattered pitting to the blade. Marples saws are not very common. 
It's a lovely saw, ready to go to work cutting tenons in the discerning workshop.
