Vintage tools -  axe Y299

Up for sale is an early & unusual antique FRENCH PATTERN MINERS AXE.

Stamped with JB & what looks to be a hand plane on the blade. This looks to be a fairly early piece & was the only one in this pattern out of the 3000 tools in the collection.

Size - The blade is 68mm wide & measures 270mm long overall, it's an impressive piece.

Weight -   1.85kg 

CONDITION

This axe is in authentic antique condition, a dark patina & some pitting as to be expected with a possible 18th century tool, a nice laminated bit on the cutting edge. This axe was part of the Longfils tool collection & purchased in France in 2019.
