Episode 1 of TOOL STORIES. 4x Disston saws owned by Alfred Rose pre-WWI

Vintage Tool Shop BUYS lots of tools from many different vendors & you never know what might walk in the doors….

Sometimes we get tools walk in that have a bit of a BACKSTORY & these four Disston saws are in that category - they used to be owned by a Mr. ALFRED ROSE, who was a carpenter & as tradesmen were taught to, Alfred put his owners mark on his tools.

He went to fight in the Great War / WW1 1914-1918. He packed up his saws & tools when he left, but unfortunately he was killed in action.

These four Disston saws are all of 1896-17 manufacture, 1 x 8ppi D8 finish crosscut , 1 x 5ppi framing D8 crosscut, 1 x 6ppi crosscut D112 & 1 x 4ppi D8 thumb hole rip.

These saws are going to be cleaned, horns repaired, & sharpened by our saw doctor Jim @jimthesawman & will go back into service cutting & ripping timber for their new owner.
We are going to keep these as a working set & it would be unkind to separate them after they have been together over 100 years.
Available in a month or so.
