Hand Forged Hammer

Up for sale is are some absolutely stunning BLACKSMITH made DOG HEAD Hammers, hand forged out of 1045 carbon steel, with a ground eye & a fully heat treated & annealed head - that means it’s hard where you want it to be (on the faces) but softer & ductile where you want it to be (around the eye).

The heavier hammers are good for general forging etc & the medium weight & smaller dog head hammers are perfect for saw smithing & blade smith work. The rounding hammers are going for shaping softer metals- brass, copper & silver.

Handles made from Vic Ash with a Shou Sugi Ban / Yakki Sugi scorched finish, and a hand forged retaining wedge.
