ITEM DESCRIPTION:

Antique plane N174

A genuine antique EBONY stuffed INFILL PLANE, with a cast base.

It is very heavy for its size & has a user made screw cap made out of bronze plate with a massive knurled screw.

Hard to find a genuine ebony stuffed infill smoother, a cool little plane.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age and use, some wear & chips to the wood, a Robert Sorby blade, it has a user made cap iron with a knurled screw instead of its original timber wedge. Some tight hairline cracks at the front & rear possibly from hammer adjustment. Its an unusual size 173mm long- about the same size as a 220 block plane but with a 52mm cutter.
