Vintage tools - infill plane N639

Up for sale is a scarce antique DOVETAILED steel INFILL No:843 "IMPROVED HANDLED SMOOTHING PLANE" with a gorgeous ROSEWOOD INFILL & coffin shaped body by ALEXANDER MATHIESON of GLASGOW.

These really are the luxury yacht of the planing world, with an extra thick laminated steel cutter & the finest mouth, plus with the steel cutter bedded against the rosewood infill, they never chatter.

Weight - 1.75kg

Size:186mm x 67mm with a 57mm cutter.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, extra nice rosewood on this plane, Marples cutter, it’s a lovely plane for the workshop & a handy size.
