Vintage tools -  infill plane N644

Up for sale is a very shapely CAST INFILL SMOOTHING PLANE  with a gorgeous  ROSEWOOD INFILL & superb shapely wedge.

The plane is unsigned, but is that typical LONDON style cast smoother, interestingly the blade is by London plane maker G.COLLIER of Brixton.

These really are the luxury yacht of the planing world, with an extra thick laminated steel cutter & the finest mouth, plus with the steel cutter bedded against the rosewood infill, they never chatter.

Weight -   1.6kg

Size: 192mm x 65mm with a 54mm cutter.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, the mouth is nice & tight, the bottom overhang of the rear handle is missing & there are a couple of small cracks to the casting there, it’s a lovely plane for the workshop & a handy size.
