T1009 UNUSUAL! Antique CLEMENS B. ROSE Early BRACE Drill 1867-68

Antique tools - brace T1009 

Up for sale is a fantastic & early  8” sweep brace.

This one was patented by CLEMENTS B. ROSE in 1867 & features his distinctive Rose chuck. By 1869 these were stamped MILLERS FALLS, this one predates that amalgamation & is stamped ROSE only. So this brace was produced in either 1867 or 1868.

Stamped on the frame.

CONDITION
The brace is in authentic vintage condition, wear & tear consistent with age and use, it still works well enough. A rare survivor from the genesis of metal framed braces in the USA.
