French antique tools -  adze Y1017

Up for sale is an early & unusual antique FRENCH ADZE with chiseled decoration to the poll.

This blade is double stamped with stars, with French tools the more makers stamps infers the higher the quality of the piece.

The blade is 95mm wide & measures 233mm long overall, it’s an impressive piece.

CONDITION

This adze is in authentic antique condition, a dark patina & some pitting as to be expected with an early tool. This adze was part of the Longfils tool collection & purchased in France in 2019.
