Vintage tools - axe PL106

Up for sale is an early & unusual antique Socketed GERMAN SIDE AXE, with an offset handle. Handled for a RH user, it has an early looking single letter stamp plus a nail pulling slot. One can see the hand filing marks from shaping the head & the hardened poll is cross hatched.

Size - The cutting edge is 120mm wide & the axe / hatchet measures 390mm long overall, it's an impressive piece.

Weight - 1kg

CONDITION

This axe is in authentic antique condition, a dark patina & some rust marks as to be expected with an early tool. About 17 old borer holes in the handle that are long gone. A gorgeous & hard to find side hatchet.
