Vintage tools - infill plane N1039

Up for sale is a scarce antique DOVETAILED steel INFILL No:844 "HANDLED Parallel Side SMOOTHING PLANE" with a gorgeous ROSEWOOD INFILL & parallel sides by ALEXANDER MATHIESON of GLASGOW.

These really are the luxury yacht of the planing world, with an extra thick laminated steel cutter & the finest mouth, plus with the steel cutter bedded against the rosewood infill, they never chatter.

Weight - 1.95kg

Size:186mm x 63mm with a 57mm cutter.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, the mouth is nice & tight, a previous owners marks on the body, it’s a lovely plane for the workshop & a handy size.
