Vintage tools -  infill plane N1038 

Up for sale is a gorgeous antique DOVETAILED steel INFILL No:842 "IMPROVED SMOOTHING PLANE" with a gorgeous ROSEWOOD INFILL & by ALEXANDER MATHIESON of GLASGOW.

These really are the luxury yacht of the planing world, with an extra thick laminated steel cutter & the finest mouth, plus with the steel cutter bedded against the rosewood infill, they never chatter.

Size:186mm x 66mm with a 54mm cutter.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, a couple of rust marks, the mouth is nice & tight, its sharp enough to use. It’s a lovely plane for the workshop & a handy size.
