Vintage tools -  sharpening stone A390

Up for sale is an antique natural sharpening stone a genuine TURKEY STONE of the BROWN variety. Very fine and hard, similar to a black Arkansas.

The original source of the mine is lost to history, however these were known as “Turkey stones from the Levant” & these are no longer commercially available. These are a much finer & denser stone than many of the synthetic offerings at hardware stores, this stone will last a lifetime.

CONDITION

This stone is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use. Some tiny chips here & there and a chamfered corner, the stone exhibits the natural fault lines that Turkeys are famous for, essential for keeping an edge on your tools in your workshop.
