Vintage tools -  sharpening stone A308

Up for sale is an unusual vintage natural sharpening stone a HINDOSTAN STONE -  a natural fine grained sandstone from INDIANA, USA. 

These are an amazingly good fine stone for woodworkers. The historical catalogues state to be used with water, but the stone will work with a thin mineral oil also.

 Size: 213mm x 50mm wide x 31mm thick

Weight: 930g

CONDITION

This stone is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, some chips off the ends & a large old chip off one corner- it happened a long time ago as a previous owner accommodated the missing chip into the base design, some traces of plaster from being bedded into the base at some time, essential for keeping a keen edge on your tools in your workshop.
