French antique tools -  adze Y48

Up for sale is an early & unusual antique FRENCH COOPERS ADZE.

This blade is triple stamped with an early embossed makers mark "J.B", with French tools the more makers stamps infers the higher the quality of the piece.

The blade is 110mm wide & measures 270mm long overall, its an impressive piece.

Weight -   1.4kg

CONDITION

This adze is in authentic antique condition, a dark patina & some pitting as to be expected with a possible 18th century tool. This adze was part of the Longfils tool collection & purchased in France in 2019.
