Vintage tools - sharpening stone A53

Up for sale is an authentic VINTAGE BELGIAN COTICULE Natural Sharpening Stone / Razor Hone.

The coticule layer is 7-8mm thick & is NATURALLY bonded to a piece of BELGIAN BLUE WHETSTONE, its a vintage stone & this one has an unusual veining to the top, perhaps a Les Lat variety coticule.

The original veins of BBW natural bonded coticles are now exhausted & the modern production bonds coticules to a slate backing to keep them stable.

An extremely fine finishing stone, coticles give similar results comparable to 6000 to 12,000 grit sharpening stones.

CONDITION

This coticle stone is in authentic vintage condition, a couple of chips to the edges, a natural void at the natural lamination line has been filled with a tar like substance, this is a superb & desirable stone that would make an awesome user.
