Antique tools - planes H1947:

A genuine antique NORRIS No.1  17.5” infill PANEL PLANE with a Rosewood infill. Dovetailed steel & sides, pre adjustment mechanism.

An absolutely beautiful example with its original & full I&H.SORBY parallel blade that is stamped NORRIS LONDON. A nice tight mouth & much of the original finish remains.

These don’t chatter when planing due to: 1. thick steel cutters. 2. the cutters are bedded against rosewood & don’t slip. 3. The sheer mass of the planes keep them moving once moving. 4. Super tight mouth clearances.

Once you’ve used a quality infill plane, it’s hard to go back to a Stanley.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age and use. Minor dings here and there to the wood, most of the original finish is on there. Some faint storage rust marks to the sides & sole. Nice to have the full original cutter & chipbreaker, sharp enough to use. This is a good example of its type
