Vintage tools - infill plane N1151

Up for sale is an antique DOVETAILED steel INFILL No:7 SMOOTHING PLANE with a ROSEWOOD INFILL by STEWART SPIERS of Ayr Scotland.

These really are the luxury yacht of the planing world, with an extra thick laminated steel cutter bedded against the rosewood infill, they never chatter.

Weight - 2kg

Size: 202mm x 65mm with a 55mm cutter.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, some scattered pitting, the rear handle is a replacement as is the cutter. It’s a lovely dovetailed smoothing plane from one of the best makers that would restore well.
