Vintage tools - infill plane N1154

Up for sale is an antique DOVETAILED steel INFILL No:7 SMOOTHING PLANE with a ROSEWOOD INFILL by STEWART SPIERS of Ayr Scotland.

These really are the luxury yacht of the planing world, with an extra thick laminated steel cutter bedded against the timber infill, they never chatter.

Weight - 2kg

Size: 202mm x 63mm with a 54mm cutter.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, the chipbreaker will need the brass boss filed slightly to fit under the screw cap, the rear handle is a replacement & a layer has been added to the front bun. It’s a lovely dovetailed smoothing plane from one of the best makers that would restore well.
