Vintage tools -  infill plane N638

Up for sale is an antique CAST IRON bodied INFILL plane with a gorgeous ROSEWOOD INFILL possibly by HENRY SLATER.

These really are the luxury yacht of the planing world, with an extra thick laminated steel cutter & the finest mouth, plus with the steel cutter bedded against the rosewood infill, they never chatter.

Weight -   1.6kg

Size: 192mm x 67mm with a 60mm cutter.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, its near sharp enough to use as is. The shapely wedge has a repair & is serviceable. Some small cracks to the casting at the heel from being struck. It’s a lovely plane for the workshop & it would present beautifully with a sensitive restoration.
