Vintage tools - mallet H2451:

Up for sale is a vintage LIGNUM VITAE LEAD BOSSING MALLET with a fantastic colour to the wood. This one has the war department broad arrow stamped into the head with HB(WM) & the date 1950, Korean war.
Used for beating lead sheet into shapes for flashings around chimneys & pipes. 

It's made out of a heavy & dense timber- LIGNUM VITAE, a slow growing dense timber that is ideally suited for lead dressing sticks, virtually impossible to source these days, most new ones are plastic.

CONDITION
This Lead Bossing mallet is in authentic vintage condition, wear & tear consistent with age & use, still very usable, nice to have a timber one, it feels nice & weighty in the hand.
