Vintage tools -  plane Y1061

Up for sale is a gorgeous & unusual antique FRENCH coopers hollowing PLANE that has some age to it, made out of heavy FRENCH live OAK.

Unusually it has a Cast Steel blade marked ACIER FONDUE ANGLAIS- English Cast Steel. It looks to be by a LYON plane maker, heavily worn & with the mouth patched by a previous owner, it looks just fantastic & the grain in this piece of wood is incredible.

A beautiful rich & warm patina to the wood, a great DISPLAY piece.

Weight - 700g

Size: 220mm long x 57mm wide & cuts a 40mm hollow approximately 

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, a few shrinkage checks, sold as a display piece as we reckon this one has done enough work in its long career. It's a lovely piece- the grain and colour of the wood is superb & part of the Yves Longfils collection that we bought back from France in 2019.
