Vintage tools -  sharpening stone A367

Up for sale is an unusual vintage natural sharpening stone a HINDOSTAN STONE -  a natural fine grained sandstone from INDIANA, USA. 

These are an amazingly good fine stone for woodworkers. The historical catalogues state to be used with water, but the stone will work with a thin mineral oil also. We use them with water & they are a fantastic smooth cutting finishing stone.

 Size: 213mm x 51mm wide x 20mm thick

CONDITION

This stone is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, some chips off the ends & a rear edge. One side has been dressed with 60g is going to cut faster until burnished in, essential for keeping a keen edge on your tools in your workshop.
