Vintage tools - plane H1186

Up for sale is a UNIQUE antique 13.5” SPIERS INFILL PANEL PLANE of EXTRA HEAVY dovetailed steel & unusually MAHOGANY construction. The steel sides measure 4.9mm thick.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, some heavy wear to the top of the front bun that would file out & refinish easily. A couple of chips off the top spur, a replacement blade with a Spiers chipbreaker. The blade will require sharpening prior to use. A nice plane to have in your workshop, these are the Rolls Royce of planes & a pleasure to use. An unusual plane with the extra heavy steel & mahogany infill.
