Vintage tools - brace H2553:
Up for sale is a very well made vintage brace by Sheffield toolmakers J.A.CHAPMAN. A 10” sweep with a rear Mahogany pad & rosewood crank handle with ball bearing races at the rear pad & the crank handle, these are near frictionless when lubed up & a pleasure to use with near zero loss of power. CHAPMAN were bought out by Stanley in the late 1930s.
An extremely handy tool, great for boring holes & excellent for driving screws in with a slotted tip bit, the leverage you can get with a brace is amazing.
Never has a flat battery or need to run a lead out, very handy indeed.

CONDITION
This brace is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age and use, some minor finish loss, handy for the unplugged workshop. This is a great example and a pleasure to use.
