Vintage tools -  infill plane N1023

Up for sale is a scarce antique CLOSED HANDLED DOVETAILED steel INFILL PLANE with a gorgeous ROSEWOOD INFILL & parallel sides by ALEXANDER MATHIESON of GLASGOW.

These really are the luxury yacht of the planing world, with an extra thick laminated steel cutter & the finest mouth, plus with the steel cutter bedded against the rosewood infill, they never chatter.

Weight -   1.85kg

Size:186mm x 60mm with a 50mm cutter.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, the mouth is nice & tight, a previous owners marks on the body & a deep age check 1/2 way through the rear handle, it’s a lovely and rare plane.
