Antique plane N161

An authentic antique SPIERS of AYR, SCOTLAND 13 1/2 “ infill PANEL PLANE with a gorgeous Rosewood infill. Circa 1870-1890.

Dovetailed steel construction & the rosewood has a rich dark colour. A plane with which to take the finest shavings from your seasoned fine timbers.

It’s one of the nicer planes to have in your workshop, these are the Rolls Royce of planes & a pleasure to use.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age and use. Some scattered pitting from storage, an Alex Mathieson cutter & a nice very TIGHT mouth, minor chips & dings & wear to the rosewood. A shortened rear horn & a period repair to the front bun. Sharp & ready to plane, a beautiful infill plane from one of the best Scottish makers.
