Antique hand tools - PREMIUM QUALITY saw S505

Up for sale is a Premium Quality STANDFIELD & NEWBOULD of SHEFFIELD dovetail saw, freshly hand sharpened & set, this saw dates to circa 1840s. 

An 10" / 257mm plate 0.5mm thick & 39mm deep, tapering to 47mmfreshly hand sharpened to 5° of rake & is a fine cutting 16PPI rip profile for dovetails.
A comfortable handle & a heavy brass folded back, this is a saw from the "Early Years" of saw manufacture from the early 19th century, when the materials were high quality & makers took pride in their work & stood by their tools as a quality product, carpenters weren't using hand held circular saws yet, so they needed saws that worked well & held an edge.

This saw is for the woodworker that is happy to work unplugged, you'll know what I mean when you read this, it's like fast food vs slow food, it's getting back to the heart of woodworking & using your hands, not flicking a switch.

CONDITION
This saw is in authentic vintage condition, wear & tear consistent with age & use, freshly hand sharpened & set, a repair to the top handle horn & an old chip out of the lower horn, its a lovely old saw, ready to go to work cutting dovetails in the discerning workshop.
