ITEM DESCRIPTION

Vintage tools -  infill plane T3565 

Up for sale is an antique HANDLED INFILL SMOOTHING PLANE with a ROSEWOOD INFILL & with a  CAST IRON BODY, with a cutter by W.MARPLES.
Made by LONDON PLANEMAKER HENRY SLATER CLERKENWELL, the body is also stamped M by the strike button probably for malleable iron, handled smoothers by SLATER are not as common.

Size: 9" x 2 & 5/8""  or 226mm x 66mm with a 2 & 1/4" or 56mm cutter.

CONDITION

This plane is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age & use, the usual marks, dings & scratches to the body & base but the bottom edges are nice & sharp, some patches of pitting to the sole- the strike button has saved the heel of the plane from most of the abuse, the mouth is nice & tight, it’s a lovely plane for the workshop & a handy size.
