11 x VINTAGE ENGLISH POSTCARDS - 1905–1947 | BEAUTIFUL HANDWRITING & EARLY 20TH-CENTURY EPHEMERA

I’ve had a soft spot for old letters, ephemera and postcards for years. I love the little pieces of everyday life they hold, and it’s time to share some of that love with you.

This is a collection of 11 vintage postcards dating from 1905 to 1947, featuring beautiful handwritten messages from another time.
7x of the postcards still have their original stamps.

What I especially love about these is the handwriting. Every card has its own character, with flowing ink, carefully written words and little personal messages sent more than a century ago. Some feature English places, while others offer glimpses of European streets, buildings and landmarks.

There’s something rather special about holding a postcard that someone chose, wrote and sent back in the early 1900s. Before telephones and instant messages, these little cards carried news, thoughts and greetings between people, travelling across towns and countries to reach someone waiting on the other end.

These postcards have survived more than a hundred years, preserving not only their pictures but also the handwriting, stamps and small details of everyday life from a world long gone.

They would be lovely for a vintage postcard collector, handwriting enthusiast, history lover, antique paper collector, junk journal, scrapbook, or anyone who enjoys old letters, historical ephemera and the nostalgia of things that have travelled through people’s lives.

A small collection with a story behind it - little windows into another time, each carrying traces of a life and a message once sent. ❤️
