Vintage tool - brace #23:
Up for sale is a very early 7" Iron Framed Hand Brace with a Beech Pad Handle, it could even be 18th century.
It's of a very archaic construction, no locking mechanism for the chuck, just a square tapered hole, the frame has a simple bulge for the crank handle, the beech pad handle is held on simply by the frame being peened over.

This brace is in authentic vintage condition, wear to the pad handle consistent with it's age, it's a very very old brace.
