Vintage tools - brace H2009

Up for sale is an iconic TOUGH of Western Australia BRACE with all METAL handles in a 10” sweep. These braces were built to be nearly indestructible with all metal handles & enclosed ratchet mechanisms & a heavy duty frame and chuck.

From the HTPAA website:

“Bit braces were made by F & R Tough in Perth, Western Australia, between the mid 1940’s until 1966. Thousands were manufactured during this time and exported worldwide. They comprised two types, the Major and the Minor. The Major was all metal construction and available in 10, 12 and 14 inch sweeps, while the cheaper Minor had Bakelite head and handles and sweeps of 10 and 12 inches. All were ratchet models and in addition Minor included a 10 inch non-ratchet model.”

An extremely handy tool, great for boring holes & excellent for driving screws in with a slotted tip bit, the leverage you can get with a brace is amazing. Never has a flat battery or need to run a lead out, very handy indeed.

CONDITION
This brace is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age and use, some plating loss, if you wanted a brace to survive the apocalypse with- this is your tool. An uncommon & handy brace for the unplugged workshop.
