Vintage tools - axe Y237
Up for sale is an early & unusual antique FRENCH PATTERN MINERS AXE head. Imagine yourself crouching down and trying to swing an axe in a mine tunnel- hence their downward facing design to stop one hitting the roof of one’s tunnel on the upswing. A very cool and unusual axe head.
The blade is 90mm wide & measures 205mm long overall, Its a solid steel construction.
Weight - 1.1kg
CONDITION
This axe is in authentic antique condition, some pitting as to be expected with an antique miners tool, stamped TALLBOT(?). This axe was part of the Longfils tool collection & purchased in France in 2019.
