French antique tools - adze Y730
Up for sale is an early & unusual antique FRENCH COOPERS ADZE head with a large curved blade & hammer poll. It looks to be a fairly early tool.
This blade is stamped by the maker in 2 x places under the head.
The blade is 120mm wide & measures 290mm long along the head, it’s an impressive piece.
Weight - 1.65kg
CONDITION
This adze is in authentic antique condition, a dark patina & wear and tear consistent with age and use. Some rust marks & pitting. A gorgeous piece & still pretty sharp. This adze was part of the Longfils tool collection & purchased in France in 2019.
